8. ensure uninterrupted and technically correct and reliable operations of equipment, utilities and facilities and improve its interchangeability, keep it in working order and at the required precision level;
9. arrange development of plans (schedules) of equipment, utilities and facilities inspections, tests and preventive repairs;
10. participate in accounting for existing and relocated equipment, utilities and facilities by producing and processing technical documents and reports;
11. raise requisitions for purchase of materials and spare parts, required for operations of instruments, equipment, utilities and facilities;
12. take part in identification of equipment, utilities and facilities accelerated wear rate and downtime causes, in investigation of accidents, development and implementation of measures for elimination and prevention of such accidents;
13. carry out his labor activity in Company"s interests, following the requirements of corporate policy, and ethical standards of behavior;
14. keep service documentation in order, regularly review the messages received via e-mail and answer them in a timely manner.

1. When carrying the watch of a watch, the watch mechanic must:
to ensure the established mode of operation of the main engines and auxiliary mechanisms of the vessel, the constant readiness for action of the means of struggle for the survivability of the vessel, and in the case of the announcement of a ship alarm, the action of these means;
2. Organize the immediate execution of orders from the navigating bridge concerning the change of the operating mode of the main engines, providing consumers with electricity, steam and water;
3. To ensure, when sailing in reduced visibility conditions, constant air (steam) pressure for supplying foggy sound signals, to alert all auxiliary mechanisms that can be used when maneuvering the vessel;
4. To provide a constant reserve of electric power while sailing in coastal waters or other areas dangerous for navigation, transfer all machines and mechanisms associated with the vessel’s maneuvering to manual control, bring the emergency steering and other backup controls into immediate readiness;
5. To maintain the main and auxiliary mechanisms, drainage and fire-fighting systems in a state of readiness, installed from the navigating bridge, when the ship is moored on an unprotected open roadstead or in any other virtually marine conditions, to periodically check on working machines and equipment that are in readiness.
6. When carrying out maintenance or repair work, the watch mechanic must ensure that the equipment on which the work will be performed is disconnected and the backup technical means are commissioned, as well as the adjustment of the mechanisms remaining in the system to ensure their safety for the period of operation in a given mode.
7. When commissioning repaired machines, systems and mechanisms, the watch mechanic should arrange for their inspection and adjustment for normal operation.
